I spent a great day with Bruce at a few different spots on the Tekapo/Pukaki canals and learnt a lot. He is a very experienced and knowledgeable guide who absolutely knows the area and its fishing. He has all the tackle, which is of the best quality, he is superb company and his enthusiasm/advice kept me going all day, even into the evening where he put in extra time and effort to try to connect me up with a monster brown! His advice on 'egg rolling' technique put a 22lb rainbow in the net for me! He is a very pleasant and patient guide , whom I can not rate highly enough. As I said to him, he is the best guide I have fished with and I have fished with a few in the UK and other angling destinations around the world. I have no hesitation recommending him for a great day out on the water!
Back home in Montana we prize a solid brown trout. Fishing Guides Twizel showed us a how it's done in New Zealand!! Night fishing chucking articulated streamers on the Orvis 7 weight! Super exciting when I hooked up with what felt like a giant catfish, but nope 23lb brown trout! Bruce sure knows where the big fish are. He really wanted me to catch a personal best! Job done! Spent a morning with Bruce on Lake Pukaki with fly rod. Scenery was spectacular! Bruce knew what streamers would work and rigged me up with a sinking tip. Bruce from Fishing Guides Twizel took Granddad and I fishing in the Pukaki Canal. His equipment was very good , showed us how to rig our lines and gave us lures he designed. Granddad got a big salmon. We were so excited. We loved it.
